Welcome and thanks for coming by my website.
I’m a professional
writer in Seattle who’s fascinated by human achievement
in the field of flight. In fact, I’ve spent my career
learning about aviation and interpreting it in my writings.
Working for a major U.S. aerospace firm has given me a wealth
of knowledge about the current state of aviation. I also know
a lot about its past, having been the curator of the Museum
of Flight here in Seattle, and before that an assistant curator
at the National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution,
in Washington DC.
My books and articles cover many topics but my two favorite
areas are commercial aviation and the evolution
of flight-related technologies. I also love aviation
popular culture. Check
out my latest book!

"Spenser's book stands as a smart,
and occasionally wonkish, history of a thrilling machine all too
often taken for granted"
